They may be around us all the time, aware of us and our puerile thoughts, but so superior to us in every way that they don't think it worth while even to consider our feeble cogitations."

A cute, short, story about recognizing intelligent alien life. For a change, they smoke pipes rather than cigarettes in this one. It reminded me of Katherine MacLean's story "The Natives."
Unfortunately, I quickly figured out who the alien life forms were. You won't harm yourself reading it; the writing is fairly well-crafted.
